MCSS new superintendent says teachers & students are his top priority!

MONROVIA -- March 26, 2024: The new superintendent of the Monrovia Consolidated School System MCSS, Hon. James Augustine Saabelia Momoh, has informed the public via his official facebook page that teachers and students are his top priority because they are the backbone of the institution and that he is committed to providing them the support, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive and excel. Superintendent Momoh furthered that the fight against corruption is critical in ensuring fairness and integrity in institutions, political parties, and governments. According to him, it creates a level playing field for all individuals, regardless of their background or social status, and fosters trust in the system, promoting development through the efficient and fair allocation of resources. The MCSS Boss has underscored the need for the fight against corruption to be prioritized in order to bridge the gap between grade and college education. According to him, doing so can create an environment conducive to learning and growth, where all students have equal opportunities to succeed. "The teachers are responsible for impacting knowledge and skills to our students, and they play a vital role in shaping the future of our society. By investing in our teachers, we can empower them to be their best, ultimately benefiting our students. Pedagogical Training for MCSS Teacher

U.S. school district principal to conduct pedagogical training for MCSS teachers and principals ! MONROVIA --- March 17, 2024: The principal of Roundtown Elementary Central York School District, Dr. Matthew Miller is expected to visit Liberia as a guest of the Monrovia Consolidated School System [MCSS] this year. While in Liberia, Dr. Miller will conduct several pedagogical trainings for MCSS teachers and principals. He is also expected to do some missionary work along with MCSS brand ambassador, Madam Palleh Oritha Wreh-Toe, who lives in the United States of America. PROJECTS 2024 FOR IT SCHOOL IN LIBERIA

Kamal Foundation to Build an Information Technology IT school in Liberia MONROVIA -- March 4, 2024: The Kamal Foundation based in the United States of America that builds schools worldwide has adopted the MCSS as its 2024 beneficiary. The Kamal Foundation is expected to build an IT school in Liberia that will enhance the computer literacy skills of MCSS students who are interested in becoming IT professionals. The decision was concluded when the MCSS Superintendent, Hon. Isaac Saye-Lakpoh Zawolo visited the US and held a rewarding discussion with the director of Kamal Foundation. The director of Kamal Foundation Mr. Jahanbein Kamal told superintendent Zawolo that prior to starting a project, the people in the community benefiting from his foundation’s work must agree to two stipulations. They must save one day’s worth of income per month for six months to donate it to the project and work one day per week on the construction of the school. He furthered that community members will have to approach their government with these plans with a parcel of land to build the school. Governments must agree to provide teachers and furniture once the school is built. “Our rule is very simple,” said Jahanbein. “If you don’t have the money, you have to give me your muscle. MCSS Emerging Leadership Academy

MCSS to launch its Emerging Leadership Academy! The Monrovia Consolidated School System MCSS, under the astute leadership of Superintendent Isaac Saye-Lakpoh Zawolo will on tomorrow, January 26, 2024, launch its first ever leadership Academy, called "MCSS Emerging Leadership Academy" (MELA). The MCSS Emerging Leadership Academy will officially be launched on January 26, 2024, at the MCSS Central Office on 12th Street in Sinkor beginning at 10a.m. Following the launch, MELA will conduct its first training session beginning with the principals who are expected to be trained in School Administration, Leadership, and Effective Communications. MELA was founded by the Zawolo's administration to strengthen the capacity of principals, Vice principals, and other school administrators including teachers that could eventually fill the aforementioned positions. As for the principals, the training is intended to build their capacities in order to be able to effectively and efficiently run the schools. The training lessons vary based on positions and categories of staff. It is expected to take place once every week and will last for 6 months. Due to the rigor of the training, participants are expected to be evaluated at the end of the training and will receive a "Certificate of Achievement". The chief facilitators are: Dr. Nathaniel Gbessagee, former Council General for Media Affairs at the Liberian Embassy in Washington D.C. and current lecturer at the University of Liberia. Dr. Gbessagee will present on the topic: "Effective Communications Skills" whilst MCSS Human Resource and Development Consultant, Mr. Kla Wilson is expected to present on the topic: "Leadership". Mr. J. Luke Garlo, MCSS supervisor will present on the topic: School Administration". This initiative is an embodiment of Superintendent Zawolo's five-point strategic goals to advance the MCSS. MCSS Distributes Food Items

MCSS distributes Food Items -To ECD Centers Monrovia, Liberia - November 10, 2023: The Monrovia Consolidated School System (MCSS) has begun the distribution of assorted food items to its ECD Centers in Monrovia. The first phase of the MCSS food distribution to Liberian kids attending its school system is headed by Madam Felecia Nyemah, MCSS, ECD Coordinator. The MCSS Superintendent, Hon. Isaac Saye-Lakpoh Zawolo said the food distribution is part of President Weah's Pro Poor Agenda for Prosperity & Development (PAPD). He noted that the distribution of the assorted food items to kids across the school system is a continuation of President Weah’s vision for a prosperous Liberia. Superintendent Zawolo made these remarks on Friday, November 10, 2023, in an interview with the MCSS Public Relations department. Also speaking to the MCSS department of Public Relations and Media Services, MCSS, ECD Coordinator Madam Felecia Nyemah indicated that the distribution of the assorted food consignment is targeting only ECD Centers for a period of three months. She furthered that the second phase of the distribution will begin from February to April 2024. All ten MCSS ECD Centers were supplied bags of rice, oil, maggi cubes, spaghettis, bakingpowders, and sugar, among others. The schools are Monrovia Elementary Demonstration, C. William Brumskine, A. Glenn, Anna F. Whisnant, and CDB. King. Others are N.V. Massaquoi, Rebecca J. Wilson, Lorma Quarter, Moses K. Weefur, and Point Four elementary accordingly.
