MCSS to launch its Emerging Leadership Academy! The Monrovia Consolidated School System MCSS, under the astute leadership of Superintendent Isaac Saye-Lakpoh Zawolo will on tomorrow, January 26, 2024, launch its first ever leadership Academy, called "MCSS Emerging Leadership Academy" (MELA). The MCSS Emerging Leadership Academy will officially be launched on January 26, 2024, at the MCSS Central Office on 12th Street in Sinkor beginning at 10a.m. Following the launch, MELA will conduct its first training session beginning with the principals who are expected to be trained in School Administration, Leadership, and Effective Communications. MELA was founded by the Zawolo's administration to strengthen the capacity of principals, Vice principals, and other school administrators including teachers that could eventually fill the aforementioned positions. As for the principals, the training is intended to build their capacities in order to be able to effectively and efficiently run the schools. The training lessons vary based on positions and categories of staff. It is expected to take place once every week and will last for 6 months. Due to the rigor of the training, participants are expected to be evaluated at the end of the training and will receive a "Certificate of Achievement". The chief facilitators are: Dr. Nathaniel Gbessagee, former Council General for Media Affairs at the Liberian Embassy in Washington D.C. and current lecturer at the University of Liberia. Dr. Gbessagee will present on the topic: "Effective Communications Skills" whilst MCSS Human Resource and Development Consultant, Mr. Kla Wilson is expected to present on the topic: "Leadership". Mr. J. Luke Garlo, MCSS supervisor will present on the topic: School Administration". This initiative is an embodiment of Superintendent Zawolo's five-point strategic goals to advance the MCSS.
